It All Started with a Little Curiosity
Since I was a kid, I’ve been the type who looked at what was going on and asked, “How could this be better?” As the only towhead, lefty, Aquarian in my family, I was independent, introverted and always observing the world around me.
My first career started as a young teenager, modeling and traveling the world. Retiring from that lifestyle when most of my future colleagues were graduating with MBAs, I was hungry to apply my worldly views and knowledge of human nature to a new arena.
Grew with Some Real-World Experience
My first traditional job was at Nordstrom, which got me hooked on improving the customer experience (CX) while helping organizations run more efficiently. My next gig at Como Sport by Cobra, taught me that every problem has a solution. Our high-end Italian golf shirts were in high demand, and we were always working against tight deadlines to deliver quality goods. Staff was stressed. Determined to work smarter, I designed a solution that tripled our production and reduced errors, allowing us to serve more customers without compromising on quality. The best result was the happy staff. This was my first major success with improving the user experience (UX).
I realized that all of these experiences were pointing me to a career in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology. So, while I continued to hold down a 9 to 5 at leading technology organizations, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Management at night, becoming the first college graduate in a family of entrepreneurs.
And Bloomed into a Business
Finally, after years of working in various companies and enabling start-ups to become bona fide successes, I started my own business. In March, 2007, I became an independent Salesforce consultant. Now, ten years later, that business has grown into CRMBloom. It’s been an amazing ride in a fascinating world. The greatest joy day after day, is seeing my customers – employees, partners and clients – discover something new.
